I created and facilitated four sessions with the aim of bringing together diverse artists from all creative fields and across the UK to connect virtually, to listen to inspiring guest speakers, and to share thoughts, ideas and aspirations for the future.
The first two sessions were for South Asian creatives and I brought together guest speakers Milli Bhatia, Nadia Fall, Tanika Gupta, Jyothi Giles, Kully Thiarai, Shankho Chaudhuri, Gavin Joseph and Suba Das with over 60 participants at each session.
The following two I hosted with Hannah Haur-King and were a space for queer womxn and non binary creatives to share their experiences, ideas, and actions for the future. Guest speakers included Teddy Lamb and Jo Tyabji.
From all of the sessions, I came away with a sense of joy at being in a space with like-minded people, to feel connected with other people like me, to be challenged, to find solidarity with each other, to find future collaborators and to instigate positive change for our futures.
